It's the first day of spring and I personally can't think of a better way to celebrate than to take this time to reminisce on what has already passed during the spring semester and anticipate what is still yet to come. Of course, the joys of spring could not hope to be expressed without the help of the prince of springtime himself, Ronald Ulysses Swanson. Spring semester is a whirlwind of snow and sun, parties and exams and perhaps most importantly, Spring Weekend and job hunting. Here's a little taste of how we all feel about spring semester as told by Ron Swanson:
You've survived your way through the cold, harsh winter to finally experience the joys of daylight savings.
And then, you smell it. That smell that belongs to one season and one season only.
Spring semester has arrived and you have never been more ready for anything in your collegiate career.
And speaking of never being ready, you realize that, despite the promise of joy and warmth, you still have to take exams and write essays until May.
But don't worry! Your parents aren't going to let you forget it.
And this is pretty much the extent of the motivation you're able to pull out of yourself.
Even though you would much rather be outside, you're still able to pull out at least a few last-ditch efforts to stabilize your GPA.
That wasn't so hard! And let's not forget that even with all that work you're in for some serious reprieve on the weekends.
You and your friends are bound to initiate all kinds of debauchery on the quad, and essentially believe that you can't get in trouble because you're the one paying for ground maintenance anyway.
But then your friends try to make a pact to work out and eat healthy before the summer.
And you definitely did not sign up for this
So you make your way over to the ice cream truck at Spring Weekend and there is no turning back.
And the rest of Spring Weekend pretty much looks like this:
And this:
And then your parents call to remind you to be safe and stay healthy and you're just like:
But then you see all of the pictures on your camera roll and you just:
And then you remember that you have class again after Spring Weekend.
But at the same time there are only a few weeks left until break and you're just like:
And by the time you hand in your last final this is pretty much all you get:
Until it sets in that these grades actually matter and you're like:
So you spend the last days saying goodbye to the friends you might not see until August.
And go home to face your annual check-up like:
Don't forget to make the most of what's left of spring semester, but remember to stay safe in the process! In the words of Ron Swanson, "Sting like a bee. Don't float like a butterfly. That's ridiculous."
