I think we are all to that point in the semester where we have lost all desire to go to class and are calculating what we can get on the next test to just pass at this point. The library has become our second home and stained sweatpants have become our daily attire. Weekends are spent catching up on sleep along with the work you couldn't get done during the week because it is all just flooding on us. Our to-do lists have become longer than the amount of hours in the day. As we sit around talking about how much we have to do and get overwhelmed, but yet we still continue to procrastinate. As a college student, we all could us a break from this workload and our campus in general.
A change of scenery would do us all of a little good. Let alone it might bring our sanity back because at this point in the semester it is looking like the walking dead with all the zombies of college students who are running on -5 hours of sleep. I am questioning my major on the daily and wondering the importance of school. I just want to dip my toes in those salty waters and have the sun rays brighten up my pasty skin. There isn't much beach therapy in Valdosta, Georgia, so I have be dying for it. I just want to take a moment and not have to worry about tests, meetings, work, or anything school demands from us and have a week to just relax for once.
I realize Spring Break will probably fly by faster than you can say blink, but I intend to try and savor every moment of it because we all deserve it! it is already halfway through the semester please explain to why I am not already on a break because I needed it like three weeks ago when every other school had off in the county besides college. So please Spring Break embrace me with your presence soon enough so I don't have to continuously go to bed at four in the morning than get up at eight.
And he said to them, “Come away by yourselves to a desolate place and rest a while.” For many were coming and going, and they had no leisure even to eat.
Mark 6:31
Let my life be more than the hours I have spent crashing at the library and more about the memories we shared while running off of no sleep. Let it be less about the test score and the joy we get from knowing we tried our best. Let Spring Break be more about the jumps of adventure we take and less about the hours spent we catching up on sleep. We have the rest of our lives to be stressed and sleepness, but living each day to the fullest is what it is truly all about.
