The Official Spring Break Bucket List

The week before spring break is meant for getting things done to have a stress-free break, oh and creating bucket lists to make sure you have the best stories to tell once you're back.

The Official Spring Break Bucket List

We’ve been waiting for this week to come since we returned from winter break. The week filled with no sleep, nothing but good vibes with people who will become family after this week of chaos, sun and sand.

It is a week that needs mental preparation, because a week without rules, no snow and friends just seems like you are asking for trouble. It won’t be your normal weekend activities that you do at school; it will seem like a movie or like you are living someone else’s life. Things to remember, though, are that food is essential and a casual nap or two never hurt anyone.

To organize the week though without being too strict with a schedule a bucket list should be created. Here are some of the ideas that your mom wouldn’t be too mad about. Each goal should be worth a certain amount of points with a winner at the end who gets a reward, such as free drinks one night perhaps?

1. Get a guy/girl’s number.

The casual I’ve been here, done this before, but these are new people you probably will never see again. I also don’t advice actually texting this person later.

2. Get a free drink from the bartender.

Because who doesn’t love a good free drink

3. Use the opposite sex’s restroom.

4. Get asked out on a date.

5. Take pictures with strangers.

Preferably selfies just to make everyone feel awkward.

6. Bar crawl.

Don’t just stick to the one bar, make sure to try them all and meet all the different people.

7. Meet new people.

8. Ditch the cell phone one day.

Don’t ditch your friends — buddy rule is key to not getting lost or in trouble — but making a day of not having your phone and just being happy with the people you are with would be pretty cool since you are, like, on vacation with them and all.

9. Don’t sleep in.

(Or at all.)

10. No drama.

You’re on vacation for a reason, don’t bring up exes or petty stuff, because you’re just trying to get a tan and make really amazing memories with people you love enough to travel with.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

There have been many lessons learned.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
