SportsCenter, Chill Bro

SportsCenter, Chill Bro

LeBron, LeBron and more LeBron; SportsCenter can't get enough of King James. To be as respectful as possible, I am sick and tired of it. Every other story is either about LeBron or his return to Cleveland. Obviously, the producers of SportsCenter have a serious man crush on the superstar.

This is not an article bashing or critiquing LeBron James as a player. James is undoubtably an outstanding and immortal athlete. This article's focus is the issue of how often SportsCenter chooses to flirt with him. My best guess is that the CEOs of ESPN have pricey investments in the LeBron James shoe line. Maybe SportsCenter can do a piece on me and my outlandish speculation. Anything would be better than another story about the return of LeBron James.

If you are like me, an avid sports fan, you like a variety of highlights and stories when you wake up in the morning. I expect to see Premier League soccer goals, NHL snipes and dangles, and the yearly hot dog eating highlight. We all have our favorite sports and teams, but can enjoy just about any highlight worth showing. The Top 10 is one of the best segments created by any network. A diverse compilation is much more enjoyable than watching dunk after dunk from the NBA. So I'm not alone when I am tired of seeing the Lebron James show when I am expecting to see SportsCenter.

Just recently, James headed back to Cleveland; awesome; we get it, he's on the Cavs. Everyone is excited about that, except for those in the 305. I wouldn't be surprised if the next breaking news on SportsCenter is what kind of jelly James spreads on his toast the morning.

It is not just James. The Ray Rice incident, as well as Peyton Maning, consume SportsCenter. The Ray Rice coverage is appropriate to spread awareness and the seriousness of domestic violence, I am not arguing that. However, that coverage may be better suited for the news, or just not overwhelmingly broadcast all the time. Congratulations, Peyton, on throwing for the touchdown record; now, move on with your life. I prefer seeing you on nationwide and Papa John's commercials more than seeing every one of your touchdowns since 1998. Although, I do like seeing the occasional fade route to Demaryius Thomas, I must confess.

My message is clear and simple, and I think many dedicated SportsCenter fans will agree with me. Please remove LeBronCenter from your lineup and give us back our SportsCenter

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
