I have numerous teachers that this applies to. They have made me the student and person I am today.

To my high school teachers who were always there for me,

After almost being done with my first semester of college, I look back and think about the people I had to help me prepare for my education after high school. The teachers that pushed me to be the best student and person I could possibly be and knowing I could succeed; thank you.

I know you don't always get all the recognition you should for all the things you do. There are so many things I am thankful for that you did for me. Thank you for always answering the millions of questions I had when I didn't understand the lesson, staying after school to help me with questions I had on my homework, and coming in early in the mornings so I could take a quiz I was going to miss. You always went out of your way to make sure I understood the lessons and always made sure I knew I was capable of doing them and were available when I wasn't able to make class. No matter how busy you were, you still made time for me to come talk to you. You showed me I could survive a class when I thought it was going to be the end of me.

Thank you for always believing in my dreams and helping them become reachable. Thank you for the recommendation letters and encouragement when it became application time. Thank you for always challenging me in the classroom and out. While I was getting stressed out about choosing plans for after high school, you kept me going and pushed me to finish everything. You showed every other student the potential they had and what they could do with it. I hope that they see that the same way I do. All the words of wisdom you have told me over those couple years have always stuck to me.

You have impacted me greatly and guided me in the right direction. You've seen me grow over the past four years I was in high school and seen the numerous changes in me. Even though teaching is stressful and I'm sure you get annoyed with all of us, just know you've changed my life and many others. You are doing an amazing job. Even though my dream is to not be a teacher, you have inspired me to be something great. I may be 1,066 miles away, but I won't ever forget about you and what all you have done for me and every student.

Thank you for everything,

Your Former Student

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
