Speak Out Against Changes to Rule 41

The changes to Rule 41 will allow the government to hack into all of your personal computers, your tablets, and your cell phones without impunity. Currently, the government must obtain a warrant to hack one device. Some may think they are safe because they use a virtual private network, but these changes will allow the government to hack into private browsers like Tor, but FoxNews, CNN, and MSNBC are not going report this breach of privacy. In a nutshell, this rule allows for the government to break into computers, take data, and engage in remote surveillance.

They will justify this by saying that’ll stop crime and terrorism. At what cost would you stop crime and terrorism? If you are willing to allow the changes to Rule 41, you should let the government control your life. If you believe this is okay, move to a fascist or communist nation, because America is supposed to be free. Anyone that allows this to go on does not believe in freedom. One of the major tenets of the Constitution is no surveillance under any circumstances.

Some will question if this is a big deal. It is. Have you ever said something online you regretted in the heat of the moment? Well, if this is not stopped, you’re giving the government the right to punish you for that. They tell you it is for your own good. This is how the road to fascism and communism is paved. False words and empty promises are a sure sign of corruption. All of you worried about Donald Trump can thank Obama for not stopping this. Donald Trump will have the power to watch your every action, and if you start a protest, you might end up with a bogus charge and have no power to stop it due to the suspension of habeas corpus.

All these bad policies getting passed are examples of corporate cronyism, corporate Democrats, and the Republicans’ unwillingness to fight for the common man. The Trump supporters may think they’re off the hook, but what happens when Democrats take control again? You’ll be targeted then instead of BLM or Clinton supporters. As citizens, we have to pay attention to the policies being passed.
Most people in their life have drank underage or smoked pot in a state where it is illegal. Anyone that has done that, have you ever told anyone online through Facebook, Skype, or Snapchat? If you did, the government would know you broke the law.

Anyone that believes in the Constitution or personal privacy cannot support senators or Congress representatives that vote for these changes. The US Government will gain unprecedented cyber power if people do not speak out against it. To everyone insulted by the burning of the flag, I want you to look at rule 41 and habeas corpus. You’re telling me all those caskets full of military personnel are for nothing. They fought and died so that our rights could be taken from us. Our veterans who got murdered in war will have their rights taken too. They died for freedom. What freedom if we allow these kinds of policies to pass? Our founding fathers are rolling in their graves. They are disgusted by what we are allowing America to become.
Your political party is meaningless. Your skin color is meaningless. Your transgressions and religion are meaningless. The politicians voting for this couldn’t care less. They will take away your freedom if you allow them to.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
