Sorry, but no I don’t have a thigh gap. And I'm proud of it.
“My thighs are so sexy that they can’t stop touching each other.”
This quote was said by the one and only, Kim Kardashian-West. In today’s society, people think that they have to have a ‘thigh gap’ like all the other celebrities. In all honesty, there are so many celebrities without ‘thigh gaps’, and they are proud of it. Celebrities that have given me confidence include Meghan Trainor and Ashley Graham.
We all remember when Meghan Trainor’s music video, Me Too, getting photoshopped. This is a pure example of the media and Hollywood downgrading plus size women. There are some many young girls around the world looking up to these celebrities, and when they see them in magazines or even music videos, they say to themselves, ‘I want to look like that.' The fact of the matter is that the media and Hollywood need to be woken up and shown that what they are doing is affecting humanity poorly.
We all also remember Joe Jones’ music video to his song, Toothbrush, which starred Ashley Graham as the girl. Joe called the video a ‘man’s dream come true.' They even kept making out long after the director called ‘cut.' Every man needs to proud of the woman they are in a relationship with, whether it's their girlfriend or wife. Remember it is not about what they look like on the outside, it’s about what is on the inside.
So yes I’m sorry that I don’t have a ‘thigh gap’. My shorts may ride up when I walk, but I walk with confidence. So next time you see someone with their shorts riding up, and they are pulling them down, know that they are beautiful no matter what. Like Meghan Trainor says, “If you got beauty, beauty, just raise em up. Cause every inch of you is perfect from the bottom to the top.”
