25 Songs That Were DEFINITELY On Your Middle School iPod

You would be lying if you tell me you didn't have at least one song on yours.

Tik Tok - Ke$ha

This song played at every dance. And you could hear it on the radio at least once every couple hours.

OMG - Usher

Usher gave us some great hits back in the day. But OMG just hit differently when it came on shuffle.

Love The Way You Lie - Eminem

Tell the truth, you pretended you were the top MC and sang so loud your parents complained.

Rude Boy - Rihanna

Riri nation stand up!

Fireflies - Owl City

Owl City was so under appreciated back then. Glad they're finally getting the recognition they deserve!

Baby - Justin Bieber

Don’t lie. You know this is true.

My First KISS - 3OH!3

3OH!3 just hit different

Smile - Uncle Kracker

“Oh you make me smile.”

Boom Boom Pow - Black Eyed Peas

They left us and then came back with some smashing hits! Before they left us again.

Single Ladies - Beyoncé

You learned the dance. You watched tutorials on YouTube. Change my mind.

Down - Jay Sean

I had the biggest crush on him. I used to listen to this on repeat.

Best I Ever Had - Drake

Drake made my middle school years.

Hot n Cold - Katy Perry

This song made me hate my nonexistent boyfriend.

Leave Out All The Rest - Linkin Park

Twilight.

She Wolf - Shakira

Our middle school days happened to be the time parodies started becoming a BIG thing. This song and the parodies that came out because of it, amazing!

Replay - Iyaz

This was on every ‘I love you’ playlist.

What the Hell - Avril Lavigne

Our punk princess Avril gave us some great hits in middle school!

Rocketeer - Far East Movement

I remember listening to this when I needed to escape. Something about it really helped me.

I’m on One - DJ Khalid

Watching this music video late at night. It went hard.

Hey Baby - Pitbull

Mr. Worldwide!

Stereo Hearts - Gym Class Heroes

Gym Class Heroes man...

Just The Way You Are - Bruno Mars

No one really admitted liking Bruno Mars. He was just something we knew everyone liked.

Black and Yellow - Wiz Khalifa

I still remember every lyric.

Party Rock Anthem - LMFAO

LMFAO had some great hits. But this one, right here, a classic!

You’re a Jerk - New Boyz

EVERYONE would blare this song early in the morning. And at every dance it had to play. That was the time a circle would form, and everyone could show off their dance moves.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
