Odds are you've bought something online at least once. Maybe you're a frequent online shopper. Online shopping has gotten big over the years. You see fewer people in the mall nowadays (unless it's holiday season). Some Americans live for Black Friday (no idea why). I tend to stay in that day fearing that if I go out I'll get trampled for something. You may go to a store and find out they don't have an item you want, whether they ran out of your size or the color you wanted. No need to worry! Most stores offer you to order it online or to their store with free shipping. How convenient is that? Yet, other online shopping experiences might be a bit more tricky. You've probably went through at least one of the following struggles before.
1. Ordering from an online shop and having no idea what size you should get
Yes, there are sizing charts but sometimes things run big or small so it's just like umm do you size up or down. It's likely that the model wearing the clothing looks nothing like you so that doesn't help much either. What is one to do? Look at the reviews if any. Then this always happens to me. I see the bad reviews and freak out about even getting the item. So you just gotta take a risk and guess your size. Hopefully, it fits especially if there is no store nearby you where you could return it.
2. Getting your order and some things don't look like how you expected
The shirt you thought was gonna be red is actually orange. The material feels cheap but it didn't look like it would feel like that in the picture. What is happening?! Shopping online can definitely be misleading in this way and there's nobody to blame except for yourself. You probably didn't read the reviews with people complaining about these same exact issues. Then again you could blame the website for false advertisement.
3. Being ready to check out then seeing that shipping fee.
Hmm not so sure if it's worth it now. Spending all that money and now you have to pay for shipping. It really makes you want to reconsider your purchase. Especially if you're order from a store outside your country. The international shipping fees are much worse by the way! But still.
4. Seeing "spend $50 or more for free shipping."
Yay now there's free shipping unlike the previous struggle. But there's a catch. You just wanted that pair of pants but don't you want that free shipping? Don't mind if I do! Why not add a few more things to your cart so you can get up to $50? Yes, you get the free shipping but now you've spend more than you planned to. That's how they get you.
Then of course:
5. Waiting for your order.
Now we wait. Waiting for your package feels like an eternity because it may take a few days to process and ship to your house unless you have Amazon Prime. Their two day shipping literally saves lives. Coming home to a package is one of the best feelings. It's like a present to yourself.
And there you have it. The online shopping struggles.
