Every now and again, our mothers will always remind us, “I brought you into this world, I can take you out.” Because let’s face it, we are still children in their eyes whether we like it or not. Mother’s day has finally passed and we still have to appreciate what our mothers do for us.
The older we get, the appreciation for our mother arises. When I was a child saying, “thank you,” was a sign of respect and gratitude. As time passes, saying "thank you" takes more courage and shows kindness to the heart. My mother is a woman to always be thankful for. She is hands down the most hardworking person I know, even my family can testify to this statement.
My mother was from Lima, Peru and arrived in this country when she was 21 years old. My mother didn’t know English and started working various jobs. Her dream was to become a doctor and help others in need. She took it upon herself to get a college degree and never stopped working hard until she got what she wanted. After years of hard work, she finally got what she wanted - she has a doctorate degree in Physical Therapy and has a family who supports her.
My mother has always reminded me to be thankful for the little and big things in life. Here are a few things I’d like to thank my mother for.
Knocking sense into my head to pull it together
Giving me hugs for my sad days
Being my #1 fan
Being my personal nurse
Being extremely understanding
Being my favorite food partner
For being my best friend
Loving me unconditionally
Thank you for always being you, mom. To all the mothers in the world, we appreciate you.
