Bowling Green State University is in the spotlight again with another tragic allegation. Does anyone remember when Trump got elected and someone said that she was assaulted because she was wearing an Obama shirt? Then come to find out that the story she told was false, anyone remembers that? With this new allegation, it's a more serious type of assault; an assault where most women are uncomfortable talking about, rape.

Earlier this week, there was a twitter post that had a screenshot of a Facebook post of a girl's story. In her story, she was talking about how this guy raped her and she told BG about it and all they did was blame her for her choice of clothing and they swept it under the rug. Everyone knows that clothes cannot make someone rape someone, it's just common sense. But because in the past, the women who were raped always wore provocative attire and that made people think that clothes have something to do with rape. Nothing is wrong with a woman being fond of her body, if she wants to show it off then that is what she is going to do. That's the best part of loving yourself, she can wear whatever she wants to because she has the right to. With that being said, if she said "No" then that means "NO"! There is no reason for the guy to retaliate by getting sex from her by force, that's traumatizing!

The girl that was involved in this issue stated that she reached out to the school and they did nothing about it, hence why I said they swept it under the rug. She also stated that because of what they did, she does not want to come back to BG, I would've done the same thing. Here's the issue with this issue, BG responded by sending out a statement talking about it. In this statement, they did not mention doing anything about the fact that the girl got raped. So in response, the BG students decided to protest and marched right up to the president's office and left the posters inside of her office. To me, that is a big move on the students part because all throughout this year we have received statements after statements about the issues that happened on campus. It just got to the point where it is like, the students have had enough with the school's insubordination on how they handle these tragic incidents.

I am going to mention the guy because I want people to know about this young fellow. This guy has a record! On that record, it states that he was taken out of Ohio University for sexually assaulting women at that school. But when he transferred here to BG he was able to not put that on his application. Which makes me wonder, BG doesn't check the students that they bring to this school, they just assume that because they didn't put it on the application that means they don't have a record. Then BG sent out another statement talking about how they didn't know about him being a previous offender... that's pretty irresponsible on their part.

It's a shame that I go to a school who do not take things seriously especially when it comes to rape. I am personally tired of the continuous statements that have been put out because that is all they can do. In my opinion, they are just talking, where is the action? The best option is to suspend him from BG indefinitely. I don't care if it is exam week, he lied on his application and he sexually assaulted more than one girl on this campus but one girl was brave enough to speak up about it. A good friend of mine is an RA on the floor that the rapist lives on and she said that her residents are scared that he may do something again. BG has to do better, 2017 was the year of testing people's patience, and so far BG is failing.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

The Importance Of Being A Good Person

An open letter to the good-hearted people.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
