Most of the information and the emergency notifications that we are receiving in the news today follows suit of being either political or about death. These are important things; however, we are sometimes blind-sighted toward a lot of the other things happening in the world, the US, or sometimes, if you're lucky, in your backyard.
Plus I personally am slightly sick of all of the political ads and articles. So lets journey through this weird world together as we look at some of the weirdest news stories that happened over this last summer, including the priceless article titles of all the insanity.
1. "Bearded Man Eats 'Record' 17 Big Macs in an Hour"
Apparently, gentleman Adam Moran is actually titled as a 'YouTube competitive eater,' so this apparently makes it acceptable for this incredible binge. The YouTube entertainer actually had a goal to eat 25 big macs, but fell short of his dreams. However, this man should not pout, because he has just gained 9,180 calories of friends. And lets be honest: if you're common nickname is Beard Meats Food, are you really looking for any more in life? Maybe just a bathroom break.
2. "Connecticut Man Accused of Sex Act with Shrub"
I can honestly say that I didn't know where to start with this one. The man was 81 years old, and he was arrested after his neighbor showed the police a video of the incident. This does of course mean that when this event did occur, the alleged neighbor deemed it more important to push the camera icon on his phone rather than the key pad to call the police about it. The police say the neighbor called out to the man to confront him, and he stopped whatever he was doing, apologized, and covered himself with a grill cover and went inside. Unfortunately, this apology wasn't quite enough, since he was charged with public indecency and second-degree breach of peace.
3. "Man Charged for Treating Cancer Patient with 'Baggie of Dirt'"
A northern Californian man was under suspicion of practicing non-licensed medicine out of his house after treating a woman with cancer with a baggie of dirt. In June, a woman sought out advice and help on Vincent Gammill's website, on which he offered "alternative and complementary care" for people dealing with cancer. He then scammed this woman out of 2,000 dollars, and even harmed her with his baggies filled with various dirts, powders, liquids, and other commercial medicine that had long since been expired. Upon investigation, the police found 25,000 prescription pills like morphine, Ambien, steroids, and even Mexican and Russian drugs at his home and office. So if anyone is selling you medicine in their living room, and they tell you they didn't have any formal education after high school, you should find another doctor. Even if they maybe remember getting their doctor of science degree in the 90's, the 90's aren't that trustworthy either.
4. "Man Claims to Be Tarzan, Tries to Enter Monkey Exhibit at California Zoo"
Rather than the dark, then darker, like the missing-and-found-dead stories, this seems to be strange, then becomes outlandish. The zoo director called the police after discovering a shirtless mud-covered man running amuck around the Santa Ana Zoo. He was climbing the trees and trying to get into the animal exhibits, namely the monkeys. John Rodenborn was telling the zoo director that he just wanted to play, and that he should play as well. Oh, I can't forget to mention that Rodenborn later tested positive for methamphetamines. So kids, dont ever do meth, because you won't even get to play with the monkeys.
5. "Homeless Connecticut Man Arrested After Giving 'Wet Willy' to 4-Year-Old Boy"
Once upon a time, a four-year-old boy and his mother were in the waiting room of a business in Connecticut when a man came up to them. He then stuck his finger in his own mouth, then into the child's ear. He drove off after being called out by both the mother of this boy and the employees at this establishment. There was not much else to read about the story, other than the man was eventually pulled over and arrested. Now what I'm wondering is what is the business where these people coincide, and where does this man drive to with his car.
