When you think of college, some people think of higher education whereas some people think immediately of the forever talked about college parties that everyone will swear by and say that those parties made their college experience so much better, but, in my opinion, you don't have to go to parties every weekend to have great memories from college.
For me, even in high school, I was never a party person.
Why? Because I don't really understand the point. Sure, it's fun to hang out with your friends and have a great night, but you don't have to get drunk or high to have fun and I think that's what a lot of people don't realize.
Everyone is different. Some people love to go to parties every weekend and get blackout drunk. To them, that's their version of fun. But to me, that's exactly what I don't want. I don't want to go to a party every single weekend and be around people who are shit-faced drunk and can't even stand without tumbling over. I don't want to be with random people that I don't even know who can't keep their liquor down.
But that is OK if that is your version of fun. If that's what you want to do, fine. However, don't tell me that I'm missing out on the best things in life because I can assure you that there are many more things that I enjoy rather than drinking until I'm passed out.
If you don't want people telling you that you shouldn't drink every single weekend, don't tell people who don't drink or party that they're boring and should have more fun in their lives.
Even beyond the party stage, everyone will always have their own versions of what is fun to them. Some people love to run and exercise and that's what they think is fun, whereas other people may like to stay home and binge-watch Netflix and that is OK.
I've never been someone who wanted to party and truthfully, I don't think that'll ever change. I'm happy with my life currently and I don't think drinking and partying can change that.
Simply put, I know what I want in life and I know for a fact that I won't find what I'm looking for at a party.
Call me boring, but I'll make memories I can actually remember.
