Sketch Tea: A Review
sketch.london

If you ever find yourself wondering the streets of London and trying to decide where to get the famous afternoon tea, Sketch is a must. And if your not the tea drinking type, do not be discouraged because they have rosé! Who doesn't love a nice chilled glass of rosé while sitting amongst the well informed individuals who have embarked on this adventure to the graceful and girly atmosphere. I wished someone had told me to "get ready to be pretty in pink" because this truly was how you felt.

Sandwich’s & Dessert

You can choose from a variety of types of sandwiches and pastries. The chicken curry sandwich, not something that would be must first choice at a restaurant was to die for here! The scones were also amazing, they even came with fresh cream. When it came to the desert, it was all bite size, so you had the opportunity to try it all, only if you still had room left. For me, I was so full from the first round of food, that I stuck to the chocolate cake and pie.

Kettle warmed assortment of tea

I believe they had any where from 15-20 different types of tea to choose from. You could go sweet, savory, or even minty. I being a true mint tea person opted for the peppermint tea. I definitely made that right choice!

While enjoying the amazing tea, it felt like I had stepped back in life and I was a little girl again sitting around a table with my friends playing dress up for tea time. I even held up my pinky when I sipped my tea!

Enormous display of witty sayings

Throughout the entire place there are picture frames full of hand drawn witty sayings that leave you laughing to yourself the second you arrive and leave. Even the dinning wear, the plates, cups, and tea pots having quirky sayings on them. Once you've sip all of your tea, at the bottom of the cup it says "forget about it" and the jar that holds the sugar says "its not ok". Luckily, if you really like the dinning wear you have the opportunity to purchase any piece you want on your way out.

The PINK!

Everywhere you look there is pink. From the walls, to the seats your butt is sitting on. The swivel chairs are even plush pink! As you take your seat, you begin to have this overwhelming feeling (very enjoyable) of what its like to truly be a girly girl again. You get to sip tea out of fancy cups, pick from an assortment of yummy sandwichs, and be able to sip rosé from your champagne glass all at the same time and place.

Cheerful vibes and the coolest bathroom to ever use

Honestly, my family and I spent over 3 hours here. We could not get enough of this place and everything it had to offer. It was nothing I'd ever experienced before. Not to mention, I had never had proper afternoon tea, meaning as "the brits do" and I'm glad to say that this place was by far the best spot to do it.

I can not forget to mention how freaking cool the alien ship inspired bathrooms are. Each toilet is in a pod and the ceiling is full of rainbow blocks. To get here, you have to climb this spiral staircase and it really makes you feel like you stepping into a space ship.

Handsome waiters (aka British men)

Ha Ha Ha, this one makes me laugh but it is just too darn true. The way to my heart is having a British accent and structured cheek bones (just kidding). Anyways, our waiter happened to be a British man and obviously had a British accident. It had taken me some time to realize that he had asked me what I wanted to order about three times before I could open up my mouth to speak. This man was drop dead gorgeous. If you have similar taste in men like me I hope you can see how relatable this is.

Well, now that you have a better understanding of what Sketch Tea is really about, I hope you decide to go and experience what it truly feels like to have afternoon tea in a pink kind of way!

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
