If you have a dog, you know what it feels like to love something so much and receive the same, if not more, love in return! They are oh so loving and make the best companions anyone could ever ask for. It is okay to be overly attached to your furry friend; I think most of us are, even if we do not want to admit it. They are by our side when we have a bad day and need some extra love, or when we need a friend to stroll around the neighborhood with. Regardless of what our busy dogs are doing, they will always make time for our needs!
It is true that some of us want to be involved in our dogs' lives more than our dogs probably want us to be at times. We smother them with love and are always in their face because we are genuinely interested in what they are doing and want them to pay attention to us. So what happens to us crazy dog people when we are obsessed with our dogs? Simple:
1. Pupparazi
Every day our dogs are insanely cute or incredibly goofy and we cannot help ourselves but to take a million pictures to document the moment. There are nearly three thousand pictures on your phone and about two thousand of them are your beloved pooch. They look so cute when they are sleeping, and playing, and eating -- basically everything they do, they do it in the cutest way. Our poor dogs are probably so annoyed when we humans go to grab our phone to snap more pictures! "Don't they have enough already?!!"
2. Separation Anxiety
It is always hard walking out the door when you have sad puppy dog eyes starring back at you telling you not to go. Long days apart leave you wondering what your dog is doing while you are gone and if they miss you as much as you are missing them! You wish you could bring them with you to work (or any non dog friendly place), but your boss probably would not appreciate your furry friend drooling all over the office.
3. Plus One
And when you are not going to work you try to bring them along with you wherever you go. Why leave them alone when you know you both will be happier with each other! A little slobber on the car window is totally worth all the new pictures you will get of your adventures from the day.
4. Talking Dog / Conversation
You start talking for your dog. You ask them a question and you reply with what you think they might have said back to you. After a while, your dog will randomly start voicing their opinion on matters and swearing. Wouldn't it be funny if your dog really had an Australian accent? There are also times when no one else will listen, so you have to vent to your dog. They are the only ones who will listen and not say a single word. No interruptions (they don't voice their own opinion during serious times) and you feel so much better afterwards. They always know how to make you feel better.
5. Cuddling
Everyone loves to cuddle -- including your dog. You can always count on your pooch to snuggle up next to you when you are watching Netflix or relaxing on the couch. Maybe your pet is not necessarily allowed on the furniture, but you make an exception because you cannot resist a good cuddling buddy.
6. Family
After a certain amount of time together your dog turns into a family member and is no longer just a pet. You treat them more like a child or sibling and love them as if they are human. You cannot image life without them and cherish all your moments spent together.
