On Wednesday, November 2, 2016, Alpha Omicron Pi, alongside Students for America's Military, is hosting their fall philanthropy, Sister for Soldiers. At this event, teams will compete in three events, including a Strength Test, a Rose Ruck, and an Obstacle Course provided by the Florida State University's ROTC organization. Each sorority and fraternity in the greek community pay to enter a team into the competition, as well as other organizations around campus. The first place team will receive a $150 donation toward their philanthropy, second place will receive $75 towards their philanthropy, and third place will receive $50 to their philanthropy.
In addition to the competitions, there will be a donation center for various goods that can be packaged and sent to soldiers overseas. If you'd like to get involved but can't make the event on November 2, the sisters of Alpha Omicron Pi will also be tabling at Market Wednesday where you can make monetary donations, food donations, and write letters to soldiers deployed. In the past, a lot of the packages and letters have arrived in the hands of our own Florida State students and alumni, furthering the love and tradition that FSU prides itself on. If you have any questions, please contact aoiifsuphilanthropychair@gmail.com, or any of Alpha Omicron Pi's sisters for further information.
