S Stands For Sexy

This is your time to shine! Dress however you want and flaunt it. A tough relationship can feel draining and overwhelming, so take this time alone to focus on yourself. However, being sexy isn't just what is on the outside. Personality and confidence count too. Be bold and always remember you aren't carrying any more dead weight, AKA your ex.

I Stands For Independent

The feeling of no longer needing to rely on a significant other is pretty miraculous when you realize you can do things on your own. You gain independence back and start to feel more motivated to go that extra mile to improve yourself. Whether you attend school or have a job, fill up all the time slots that you usually would have spent with your ex. Keeping busy will mean that you have less time to think about you know who.

N Stands For Networking

No, not your job. Networking as in going out, socializing, and meeting new people. You have no one to wait on or explain yourself to anymore so go out and have fun as much as you want. You'll never know who you will meet. So buy that cute dress and plan a girls night out. Your friends are your number one when it comes to dealing with a break-up. Whether they bring you ice-cream in a midst of sadness or force you out of the house to go dancing, your friends got your back.

G Stands For Gleeful

Be that high spirited person you were before you let someone drag you on a rollercoaster you probably were hesitant about riding in the first place. Once the grieving stage is over, the world is yours. Allow your confidence to build up and trust me, you will find yourself again. Put the grieving behind you and you'll remember what it is like to get butterflies again. You'll remember that nothing is permanent and that it is up to you to take the next step.

L Stands For Luminous

It is said that some women are gifted with a natural glow. If you ever lost that sheer natural look inside and out, take back what is yours. Hey, if you need some makeup and highlighter to help that glow, go right ahead and add to it. Makeup doesn't hide your true beauty, it enhances it. Although this may sound cliché, shine bright like a diamond.

E Stands For Effective

Positive change is never a bad thing. Whether you have to dye your hair or go skydiving to help get over your ex, do what you have to do. Quick tip, before making any drastic changes download an app on your phone to see what you would look like if you dye your hair a different color. It is probably best to go to a professional as well. I figured that one out the hard way. Once you take the right steps in feeling healthier physically and mentally, being single can have a major effect on your future because, at the end of the day, you are looking out for yourself and your best interest.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
