For me, being single didn't really bother me until I entered college. In high school, there were times where I wished that I was in a relationship, but those moments were rare and they quickly passed. Then I entered college. That's when I started to care more about being single, and being in a relationship.
There are times where I love being single. There are pros of being single. Then there are times where I hate being single and wished that I was in a relationship. Being in college, I am surrounded by people that are single and not single. Just like in high school. But unlike high school, people in college are getting engaged and married. So, always being surrounded by people who are in relationships, and getting married, makes being single hard.
There are times where I think; what is wrong with me? Why am I still single? Why is everyone else I know getting into relationships, and I'm not? And honestly, it sucks. But then there are times where I'm glad that I'm single.
It's a time to focus on yourself, whether it's studying, working out, eating, hanging out with friends, and so on. You can do whatever you want. You can be selfish with how you spend your time. You can focus on what you want, and what your priorities whether that's isn't school, project a work, or landing your dream car. You don't have to worry about balancing your time hanging out with your family, friends, and your boyfriend or girlfriend. So, pretty much, you have a ton of freedom and a lot more than what you would have you are in a relationship.
But don't get me wrong. Being in a relationship with someone isn't a bad thing either. There is a lot of pros about being in a relationship as well. Just like there are pros of being single. Some people would rather stay single while others want to be in a relationship. There is nothing wrong with you no matter what you decide.
