If you're feeling like you have been stuck in a rut lately or just feel like you need to boost your morale sometimes, then these simple ways to change your life and boost your mood might help! I will keep this short and sweet so you don't have to waste any precious time and can get out there and do your thing.
1. Start your day with an inspirational quote.
Personally, I have a canvas hanging in my dorm room that says "Today is going to be a great day." This picture is the first thing I see when I wake up, and it always seems to catapult me into a positive mindset. If you don't have a motivational saying conveniently placed around you, there are plenty of apps and accounts on social media that provide daily inspirations. It may seem like a cheesy thing to do, but having a positive image that you are able to pull to the front of your mind throughout the day might help keep your spirits up!
2. Give someone a compliment.
Randomly telling someone that you thoroughly enjoy their shoes may seem a little out there, but I promise people remember small compliments and totally appreciate them! One tiny, sincere remark to a stranger can spur that person to give another stranger a compliment, and the cycle just continues from there. Even if the person you are flattering gives you a confused look, just know that they will think about what you said, and know that you did something nice for another person. Never underestimate the impact that small gestures of kindness can have!
3. Get a little exercise.
I'm sure everyone has heard of the amazing benefits that working out can bring to a person. I know I've heard all about endorphin rushes that flood your system after exercising. Let me tell you, though, these rushes are real! Starting small with something like taking the stairs instead of the elevator or busting out 20 squats in your dorm room are all you need to start feeling productive and good about yourself. It can only go up from there!
4. Write down something you are thankful for.
Putting what you are grateful for onto paper is a great and easy way to remember how lucky you are. Small bits of hope can add up and if you record these little messages on a sticky note, you can post them by your bed and go to sleep looking at your wall of blessings. Who knows, maybe they'll sweeten up your dreams, too!
5. Save funny pictures on your phone.
One of my favorite things to do is go through the camera roll on my phone and giggle at the silly memes, text posts, and reaction pictures that I have collected. They never fail to make me laugh. Laughing is proven to boost your mood, so I try to laugh as much as possible! With the constant state of go-go-go that college brings about, it's good to take a step back and not take life so seriously for a couple of minutes. Laughter and good vibes are contagious and free, so laugh away my friends!

I hope these little tips prove helpful to you, and I know I will continue to abide by them. Happy mood-boosting, kiddos!
