Are you starting to panic because you still have no idea what to get your significant other for Christmas yet? Don't worry, I basically do it every year so there's nothing wrong with a little last minute shopping! When my fiancé (saying that is still weird) and I started dating it was hard to figure out what gifts to get each other, but I'm here to tell you that you don't have to spend copious amounts of money every year. So, here are some inexpensive ideas on what to get your SO for the holidays.

1. Their favorite movie from 2016

If you have seen a movie with your boyfriend or girlfriend in the past year, this would be a great gift idea for them. In my opinion, it's a cute memento from a date!

2. A cute DIY gift

I'm not super crafty, but if you are, your SO will really appreciate all the thought that went into this gift.

3. Their favorite album from 2016

I don't know if people still buy CD's (I do), but if your boyfriend/girlfriend does this is a good gift that you know they're going to like!

4. Any type of sweets or their favorite foods

If you can cook this is a great way to show your attention to detail. Everyone loves food, so maybe making a plate of his/her favorite cookies or brownies would be the way to their heart this holiday.

5. A piece of clothing they have been vying after

I'm not saying spend 100 dollars on a nice sweater, but scarfs and hats are great winter accessories that really anyone would like to have!

6. MUGS

Yes, seriously, mugs. I get a new mug every year for Christmas and it's my favorite thing ever. I think they are a great inexpensive gift that can relate to anyone.

(Anything with a pun is a plus).

7. Certain jewelry you can find cheap during the holidays

Something easy and affordable can be pandora charms or even watches. I got my SO a really nice fossil watch that was on sale for 50 dollars one Christmas (if he reads this article he may know that now), but he loves it and wears it to work every day.

8. Something to decorate their room/apartment/house

I love getting new things to decorate with, and your SO may too! Something fun and personal like a canvas with inspirational words or even their favorite Star Wars character can be something simple to get!

9. Gift cards

If you are really stumped on what to get, a few gift cards to their favorite store or restaurant is always a plus.

10. Plan a day trip to your favorite place

One thing I really wanted to do during the holidays was go to Chicago and see all of the lights and decorations. I was lucky enough to get a day trip there from my SO and it was a great gift right before Christmas.

These of course are only a few ideas and can be molded into whatever gifts you would want to get your bf/gf. If you have been dating for a long time, maybe you're like me and my fiancé and just tell each other what we want at this point. We usually throw a little surprise in there too, but this ensures we really know what to get each other. But if you like keeping the mystery alive but are strapped for cash because college life takes all of your money, I hope that these simple ideas influence some of your own great ones for the holiday season!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
