Shout out to all my college seniors graduating in 2016. Whether it be in December or May, it's a great accomplishment and we all should be celebrating together. But, for those of us that are graduating in about less than a month, there are some tell tale signs that set us apart.
1. You've invited someone to your senior seminar presentation.
Every major has one, whether it be an art gallery, a reading, or a business presentation, you've created a Facebook event to invite everyone that you know.
2. You're now realizing that you have to start looking for a real job.
Shoot! Now it's real and the idea of staying at your shitty mall job when you have a bachelor's degree is unreal. And it will not happen. Well, maybe for a while.
3. You may have turned in an application for grad school.
Some people may think you're crazy to be going right back into school (I'm even crazier since I'm starting in June!), but it's what some of us want. By now, the applications should be in if you've decided to go straight to it. Hopefully, by now, you also know if you got accepted or not. Good luck!
4. You're planning a kick ass graduation party!
Don't worry, everyone's invited and this time, you can have alcohol. Need I say more?
5. You've taken time to reflect on the past four years.
They say these are the best times of your life, and now they're almost over. It seems as if yesterday, you were moving your favorite stuffed animals into the dorm and meeting your roommate for the first time. Now, you're about to enter the real world.
6. You are thinking of traveling (or have planned to travel).
You're young, wild, free, and you're about to obtain a degree. Now it's time to go out and see the world.
7. You're thinking about how you're going to pay off your debt.
Defer, defer, defer. Or just pay it off what you can now; that's a smarter choice.
8. You've started a countdown.
As I am writing this, I have: 23 days, 18 hours, 56 minutes, and 15 seconds until graduation.
9. You're scrambling to get everything done.
Unlike any other semester, this is your last and it feels as if you are running a rat race to the finish line. Well, because you are! Now get to it!
10. You've got senioritis
Still not exactly sure what this means, but it's out there, and you probably have it.
11. You're ready.
Whether this means going to grad school, traveling the world, getting a job, or just being happy with that expensive piece of paper, you're ready for it. Whatever the world has for you, you're ready to tackle it.
Congrats, grads! We did it!
