25 Signs You Are Watching the Olympics

It is that amazing event that happens every four years. The summer Olympics. People all around the world are sitting in front of their TVs cheering on their nation's teams, and while we may all come from different cultures and countries, I would like to think the things that happen when we watch the games are pretty universal. Here are a few things that probably happen for everyone who has watched the Olympic games:

1. You are totally in awe of the opening ceremonies.


2. Yet, you are not so in awe of how long it takes for every country to enter the stadium.


3. Is it bad you have not even heard of some of these countries? Like where is Mauritania?


4. At least you have something new to Google now...


5. Everyone has that favorite sport they love watching


6. For most people, they enjoy sports like gymnastics, swimming, diving, or soccer.


7. It can also be fun though to watch the more obscure sports they show at 2 in the morning. These are sports like equestrian dressage,


8. It is always fun to criticize and yell at Olympic athletes you see on TV. You totally are an expert on all the sports of course. You could probably be a coach if you really wanted.


9. And if you really wanted to, you totally could do this...

12. It can't be THAT hard right?


13. Okay, so maybe you are not a total expert, but that is not going to stop you from yelling at your TV.


14. While you're watching the games, you make casual travel plans to visit the host city in the near future.


15. It always was your life's ambition to visit Rio, London, and Beijing. No one can stop you.


16. You also are going to become a gymnast/swimmer/equestrian now.


17. You also know you can be Olympic caliber in all these sports by 2020.


18. Whenever someone from your country wins a gold medal, it is like you vicariously won one too.


19. You never felt more national pride than at that moment.


20. You totally have an Olympic athlete crush who you follow on all forms of social media.


21. You pretty much have followed every Olympic athlete on social media, let's be honest.



22. You also love all the Olympics-themed Snapchat filters.


23. Even if you don't care about sport most of the time, you love the Olympics.


24. Whenever you hear the music, tears just come to your eyes.


25. What are you going to do with your life when the Olympics are over?
