Keeping up with the Northwestern workload definitely requires a good work ethic, but it's also important to give yourself a break from slaving away at essays, problem sets, and lab reports. The perfect way to do that? Watch Netflix, of course. Here are four of the best shows on Netflix to binge-watch when you're procrastinating homework, taking a break from homework, or even while doing homework:
1. "Freaks and Geeks"
This underrated, late 90s comedy-drama only ran for one season, but don't let that dissuade you from watching it. With funny one-liners and a relatable cast of characters, this Judd Apatow creation perfectly embodies the roller coaster of high school. Plus, "Freaks and Geeks" features Seth Rogen, James Franco, and Jason Segel in their debut television performances. If you've seen "Freaks and Geeks" and loved it like I did, check out "Undeclared," another Judd Apatow gem also available on Netflix.
2. "Bob's Burgers"
I'd never watched an adult animated television show before "Bob's Burgers," so I wasn't sure what to expect when I started streaming it on Netflix. I can tell you with complete assurance that this show is definitely worth checking out. With quirky characters and hilarious family situations, "Bob's Burgers"is impossible not to laugh out loud at.
3. "Friday Night Lights"
I'm not a huge football fanatic, but this show sucked me in right away. My TV-addicted parents and younger sister both rank "Friday Night Lights"as one of their favorite shows, so that just goes to prove how universally loved the show is. The passion of every character and the emotion behind every episode will undoubtedly reel you in like it did me.
4. "Parks and Recreation"
I can't even begin to explain how upset I was when this show came to an end last year. Even though I started watching it late in its run, I easily fell in love with the characters and relationships on "Parks and Recreation." Plus, who doesn't love chubby Chris Pratt?
