Self-Love And Why It's Important

"You should go and love yourself."

The "Bieb's" couldn't have said it any better.

You know I am totally right when I say there isn't a day that goes by when we wish we could be someone else. We want to be the pretty girl, the smart girl, the popular girl etc. But what is so wrong about simply being you? We tell ourselves that when we are prettier, skinnier, and our faces aren't covered in acne, then maybe we could learn to love ourselves just a little bit more. But I can tell you right now that's just flat out ridiculous and you know it. God created you the way you are for a reason and you should learn to accept yourself because you're simply you. And there will never be anyone just like you. So why is self-love so important?

1. When you love yourself, you accept yourself.

The moment you start learning to love who you truly are, you also begin to accept who you are. You accept you for you. You accept yourself for all of your flaws and all of your mistakes. No one is perfect and we all make mistakes, but you know what? It happens. Don't let it bring you down.

2. Learning to love yourself boosts your confidence.

For me, personally, I struggled a lot with my confidence. I wouldn't leave the house if I didn't look a certain way. I had to wear a lot of makeup and certain types of clothes just to be comfortable with how I looked. I slowly realized that I can wear whatever I want and still be beautiful. My curves aren't meant to be hidden. And I don't have to wear a lot of makeup to be pretty either. I am beautiful in my own little way. Just remember; you are unique and there is no one else just like you.

3. Your friends, family, partner etc. will thank you.

Trust me. Nothing is more annoying than being around someone who is so negative about themselves. You are not gross. You are not ugly. You are not too skinny or too fat. You are you. Everyone just wishes you would shut up about it already and be more positive. After all, positivity is key, am I right?

4. People are in and out of your life, but you will always remain.

Really though. This is sooo true. At the end of the day you need to be there for yourself. You cannot expect everyone to be there for you.

5. When you learn to love yourself you can focus on the more important things in life.

When you constantly dwell on yourself, you are literally living underneath a storm cloud. Just stop it. When you love who you are you can focus on being happier and healthier. Trust me; it's good for you and you will thank me later.

6. Realting back to number 4; it's not up to other people to love you, but it's such a blessing when they do.

This is why it is completely up to you to love yourself.

7.Peace.

Seriously, though; stop going to war with yourself.

8. Your ability to love others unconditionally.

You should do the same for yourself.

9. Loving yourself will make your life much easier.

I know it sounds kind of cheesy, but trust me on this one. Just do it.

10. One of the most important ones.

People love people who love themselves. Trust me, it's true. When you love yourself, you are more likely to attract people who love you too. Ready for another corny line? When you love who you are, it's like you are surrounded by a big ray of happiness. Okay, that was too cheesy and I apologize.

Now I know that it can be hard to love yourself and gain the confidence that you need, but if you ever need that little extra push, at least you have these ten reasons. Self-love takes time and patience, but at the end, it's totally worth it.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
