Whether you have a certain belief on how we are created, we are here for a reason. Every 12.95 minutes, an American commits suicide. I am about to dig deep inside your mind and pin-point the most important aspects of your life.

There are over a million questions running around your head. Have you ever reflected upon your mistakes and ask why you did what you did? Are there moments of your life that you remember and begin to grow sad? How do your prioritize your emotions? Are you ashamed of who you are and who you became?

Society has a tendency to naturally select genders and to shame those who choose to be different. As a sorority girl now, back then I believed in all the stereotypes of a sorority woman. What are those stereotypes you might ask? Well, here a some characteristics such as: tall, blonde and brunettes only, basic “white” girl, shops at Lily Pulitzer and Vineyard Vine and lives in the south. All of those are NOT true. Diversity is in this country and so will diversity be in any organization. Now, you’re probably wondering why I am talking about sorority life? My point to make is to value yourself.

I learn to stick to my belief and to get rid of who I was then verses who I am now. I am okay- wait, I am more than okay. I am confident in who I am. I do not care if I am not a basic “white” girl or that I do not dress girly from time to time or that I am not a hot-bod dream girl. I am a content human being and I am proud of who I am. That means you should be too. If you do not value yourself now, you will never respect yourself later in your future. Who you are now can change or it will not. There is no need to pretend who you are, regardless if people may know you or not. You are you because the people that truly care carries you to be the greatest version of yourself.

I am happy that I like to read and write for a living. I am happy that I like Harry Potter and Marvels Avengers. I love watching the sunrise and the sunset. I love coffee and tea. I love being me. Which brings back to my point to love yourself because to love everyone else is a choice. It is time to realize that this world is filled with lies and scams. We can change that by accepting our choices, flaws and mistakes. The reason why people feel so alone and ashamed is because there are people out there that shame others for being different. I felt shame before. I felt different and did not accept it. Now, I learn that being different is what makes the world a little more unique to live in.

There is a reason why diversity is an important concept. Diversity leads for those to be open-minded and accepting. So what if a girl has her hair colored blue or a rainbow? She is unique and she is confident. Who cares if this young man is awkward? You may not be aware of the physical and mental challenges that every person you encounter in this world is facing. We all have our problems. Yes, some people may have it worse than others, but it does not mean that your problems do not matter. You, of course, matter in this life. What I always keep in mind is, if you had a book for every person you met in your life you will be surprise how little or big of an impact they will make in your life.

A life lesson to be learned is to never ridicule anyone for who they are. You have a reason to live, so you should give them that chance to live, as well.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
