Life can be stressful. Many times life is stressful. Instead of letting your stress get the best of you try these self-care tips:
1. Walk away
Sometimes we take on too much and when that happens we just need to walk away.
2. Shower or bathe
When you're in the shower, for the most part, you just have to shower. This is a perfect chance to recuperate and give yourself a break. Like baths? Perfect, throw in some bubble soap and light your favorite candle.
3. Play
Play like a five-year-old. They're probably not as stressed as you anyways. Beyond that, this is a great way to just enjoy life for awhile rather than worrying about it,
4. Get outside
When is the last time you were jus outside to be outside? Get away from your work, your computer and your TV. Just enjoy the simple beauty of nature for awhile.
5. Exercise
This one should go without saying, but the benefits of exercise are vast.
6. Take a nap
People who go without enough sleep often times are more bothered by stress. Taking a nap is a helpful way to restore some energy.
7. Meditate
What? Really? Yes. You don't know how? YouTube. Everything is on Youtube now. You don't need to be a meditation expert to reap the relaxation benefits of meditation. Even if it's 10 minutes of peaceful quiet and deep breathing, this time will give you an awesome chance to relieve some of earlier stressors.
8. Ask for help
Asking for help can be scary. Often times when we are stressed its because we have taken on too much. But asking for help can make a huge difference.
9. Play your favorite song
Sometimes all we need is a dance party for one in our bedrooms with our pants off. Music can completely change the mood in any situation. Skip the songs that make you sad and opt for somethings that will make you happy when you're already feeling stressed out.
10. Write about it
Whether writing is your "thing" or not, writing your feelings down can help you understand them better. If you write down what is stressing you out it then you may be able to find ways to manage that stress better.
11. Plan ahead
One of the best tools for stress management is better organization. Try planning the next couple hours of your day. Then start to make planning out your days a habit to reduce stress more and more.
