The most important thing in your life is also the most overlooked thing in your life. Your mental health. I definitely have a hard time fitting "me" time into my schedule, but, it's doable. It doesn't take a lot of time or money to take a little time away from your busy school, work, and/or social life to take care of yourself.

Here are 25 ways to take care of yourself with little-to-no cost to you

1. Try a new workout

2. Do yoga

3. Get a coloring app like Pigment or Recolor

4. Dance around your room to your favorite song

5. Watch a sad movie - sometimes having a good cry is what you need. (Find a list of great sad movies here)

6. Watch a funny movie - sometimes you need a good laugh too.

7. Take a nap

8. Read that book you've had on your shelf for months

9. Listen to a podcast that pertains to something you love, there's basically a podcast for everything

10. Take a Media Detox Challenge - turn off all technology for at least an hour and do something else

11. Go for a short hike

12. Practice mindful meditation

13. Get a Target facemask (they're actually great) and have a small spa day

14. Write all your feelings and random thoughts in a journal, it helps declutter your mind

15. Take a long hot shower/bath

16. Binge your favorite tv show

17. Go to bed early

18. Diffuse essential oils - they're decently cheap and can be found at your local natural food store

19. Call your mom

20. Paint with watercolor - another cheap thing you can get at a local craft store

21. Start a gratitude journal

22. Drink a cup of hot chocolate or tea

23. Eat chocolate

24. Go for a drive by yourself

25. Eat your favorite comfort food without guilt

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day.
