There are four houses in Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry: Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, and Slytherin. You will be separated by characteristics of your team. No house is better than another. Everyone starts out the same, but it's what you do with the opportunities that get you what you want.

1. Alabama—Gryffindor

You’re bold. You’re brave. You’re definitely not subtle on (or off) the field. You won’t find your home anywhere but in Gryffindor.

2. Auburn—Hufflepuff (or Gryffindor)

Your house could be Gryffindor for your inner house rivalry with Alabama and your bold plays on the field—or you could find your home in Hufflepuff because every season for you is a new season and you always show up swinging. You work hard and always get yourself ranked no matter what kind of team you have.

3. LSU—Slytherin

Slytherin is your house because you do whatever you can to win, and you’re not real nice about it all. Really, I’m the one being nice here.

4. Ole Miss—Hufflepuff

You might be called the Rebels, but you’re just good ole southern boys at heart, so you’ll find yourself most at home in Hufflepuff.

5. Mississippi St—Hufflepuff

You’ll find your home in Hufflepuff with your inner-house rivalry with Ole Miss, plus no one really has any real reason to hate you.

6. Texas A&M—Ravenclaw

You’ve been sorted into Ravenclaw because somehow you managed to make it into the SEC without being in the southeast. That takes some kind of unfortunately excellent strategy.

7. Arkansas—Gryffindor

You, Razorbacks, are daring on the football field. You’re loud and proud, and you’ll find your home in Gryffindor.

8. South Carolina—Hufflepuff

You might not have the aura of a powerhouse team, but no one can dismiss you. For your determination and continuous hard work, you’ve been sorted into Hufflepuff.

9. Florida—Slytherin

You know what it’s like to win, that sweet taste of glory, and you can’t ever forget it. Slytherin is your house because you won’t stop until you’re able to reach those glory days again.

10. Kentucky—Gryffindor

Gryffindor is your house because while you might not be the best in football, you’re still loud and proud, and you make sure everyone knows it.

11. Missouri—Hufflepuff

How are you even in the SEC? But since you’re here and you haven’t left yet, it’s got to count for something. You’ll find your home in Hufflepuff because you must have some kind of hardworking determination to still be here.

12. Vanderbilt—Ravenclaw

Who are you again? I mean I think I’ve heard about you in other sports, but this is football. Let’s be real. You’re sorted into Ravenclaw because you’re smart, and you should really think about sticking to those books instead of pretending you’re good at football.

13. Tennesse—Slytherin

Need I say more?

14. Georgia—Gryffindor

You are brave, but for countless years you’ve been the most underrated one on the field. You never let it get you down, though; you kept at it, and it’s paid off. Gryffindor is the house for you because it’s not always obvious at first just how brave and bold you can be.

Every team is unique, and it's their characteristics that set them apart. In the end, they are all apart of the SEC.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
