Searching and Seeking the Truth

Did you ever have a search party to help you to find something? Imagine loosing something that is completely valuable do you search frantically for it or do you casually look for the mechanism instead of having a search party? Sometimes in our lives we need to have a search party for our hearts to help us to understand the true value that knowing God's word actually holds. Scientists are constantly looking and searching for answers and sometimes it clouds the truth which seems to be hidden to many for they may not want to see the answer.

Psalm 139: 1-6 (TNIV) You have searched me, LORD, and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways. Before a word is on my tongue you, LORD, know it completely. You hem me in behind and before, and you lay your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain.

We need to allow God to search our hearts and we need to be actively engaged in searching for the truth in His words. Having an understanding of what the truth really is should prompt us to have a search party for what God wants and he wants our hearts and to spread his word with others. Sometimes we misplace certain objects and we start looking and searching frantically and other times we may just forget to actually look for what we are missing, but as a whole we need to be actively engaging in God's word and seeking and searching for the truth that lies within God's written words.

1st Chronicles 28:9 (TNIV) "And you, my son Solomon, acknowledge the God of your father, and serve him with wholehearted devotion and with a willing mind, for the Lord searches every heart and understands every desire and every thought. If you seek him, he will be found by you; but if you forsake him, he will reject you forever.

God searches our hearts and as Christians we need to be engaged in seeking the truth for God wants us to seek him and to understand his word. Searching for the Truth should not be just a one time thing but a regular occurance for we should actively be engaging in God's word along with seeking the truth that only He provides.

Romans 8: 27 (TNIV) And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God's people in accordance with the will of God.

Are you actively having a search party to seek God's words and seeking the truth to find the answers and letting him guide you from inside your heart?

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
