10 School Supplies All 90’s Kids Wanted
Start writing a post

Let's be honest. We all pleaded with our moms in Walmart to buy us things that weren't even on the school supply list. Who even really needs those little erasers, anyway? Here's to the kids that remember Spacemakers and Lisa Frank.

1. Scented Erasers

Every single girl in 7th grade had these. I mean, come on, they were as essential as a Hollister tote bag or skinny jeans. You had to have them.

2. Milky Pens

Milky pens ruled middle school. Writing your name on the attendance sheet made you 10x cooler. That was the time to show everyone you had milky pens. Bonus points if you used them with black paper.

3. Pencil Toppers

Pencil toppers served as the ultimate distraction from class and that awkward silent time after you were done with your test. No wonder they were banned in 7th grade Earth Science.

4. Pencil Grips

Pencil grips were the answer to the sides of your ring finger hurting and made you look even cooler than you already thought you were. You could instantly turn your 10¢ pencil into something that almost looked like a mechanical pencil.

5. Five Star Notebook

Sure, the colored character notebooks were pretty sweet, but Five Star notebooks meant you were sophisticated and too grown up for those silly puppy notebooks. Talk about a rite of passage.

6. Erasable Pens

Remember when our teachers handed us a ballpoint pen for our homework assignments? Everything we wrote felt so... permanent. That's when erasable pens came to our rescue. Total game changer.

7. Multi-Color Pens

Honestly, if you had a pen with 10 colors, you might as well have been driving a sports car.

8. Spacemaker

Everyone had these. They one thing I never understood about Spacemakers is the fact that they were so big. It was almost like...they did not even make space.

9. Elmer’s School Glue Gel

It might just be glue, but it's glue gel. And it's blue. You might not have needed it, but it was still awesome.

The most entertaining school supply ever.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.
