Even if you have no interest in American politics, it's clear that the current candidates running for the White House have kept the U.S. and the world captivated. But now that we've come to a more limited field of candidates, with controversial businessman Donald Trump effectively being the Republican nominee and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, after a fascinating run against Senator Bernie Sanders, coming out as the top Democratic nominee, it's time to get serious. With the smear campaigns being run on both sides of the playing field and the rampant rumors spreading online, it can sometimes be hard for the undecided voter to get the information they need to make a smart vote.
Worry no longer, voters. Here's a comprehensive (but by no means exhaustive) list of sources on the presumptive nominees.
Democratic Nominee: Hillary Clinton
Senator of New York, former First Lady and former Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton has made history after becoming the first female nominee for a major political party in the U.S., but only after a tight race against far-left wing candidate Bernie Sanders. Secretary of State Clinton has received support from government leaders and cultural icons alike, with pledged support from such individuals as Barack Obama, Oprah and the world's boyfriend Leonardo DiCaprio. Her website contains tons of articles written about her and her campaign, along with a catalog of events to direct voters to rallies and meet ups. Secretary of State Clinton's social media is available for voters to peruse as well, with her Facebook, Twitter (https://twitter.com/HillaryClinton) and Instagram open for view.
Republican Nominee: Donald Trump
Businessman and reality TV host Donald Trump became the presumptive nominee for the Republican party after his serious competitors all dropped out of the running for the nomination. Trump has split the Republican party into two camps (perhaps even more decisively than Clinton and Sanders did among liberals) with his extreme policy plans and dislike of "politically correct" PR tactics. Despite this, Trump has gained a huge loyal following (as well as support of North Korea's favorite American, Dennis Rodman) that has been captured on his website (https://www.donaldjtrump.com) and his social media (Facebook [https://www.facebook.com/DonaldTrump/], Twitter and Instagram [https://www.instagram.com/realdonaldtrump/?hl=en]) as well.
