Why Running Free’s The Mind
Odyssey

Those who run share a special bond in which when we run it can affect how we feel each and everyday. You wake up early in the morning, so tired that you don’t want to get up. But, you know getting up and starting your day off with a nice run always clears your mind and makes you feel more motivated for the whole day. So you get up brush your teeth, get dressed, put those running sneakers on and grab your headphones. While you take the first step out your front door, you take a deep breath of nature and the air. You hear the birds chirping and feel the cold brisk air running through your skin. You take it all in before you put those headphones in, and pick a song that you are ready to jam out to. You start with a slow jog and you start running through a list in your head of everything you need to get done today at school or at your job. Your mind starts spinning in circles, as you think about your family, friends, and love life. With all of these forces, it keeps you motivated and while you think about all of these things, you forget your body is moving and in a way giving you time to yourself in which we don't get much to solve your problems. It is the only time of the day you truly have to yourself and that is why us who run value this time so much. Running has so many benefits and only helps you feel like a more confident YOU.

  1. It Makes You Feel Like a Brand New Person.
  2. It Helps You Free Your Worries and Problems.
  3. It Lets’ Your Heart And Soul Go.
  4. You Feel More Motivated and Confident After You Run.
  5. Your Mind Wanders As The Miles Go By.
  6. Lets’ You Push Your Own Limits.
  7. The Pace You Run Doesn’t Matter.
  8. You Are In Control.
  9. Nature Is Your Friend.
  10. It Is Cheaper Than Therapy.
  11. Makes You Stronger Both Physically and Mentally.
  12. Gives You The Power That No One Else Could Give You.
  13. Best Medication Whether You Are Happy, Sad, or Angry.
  14. Benefits Every Part Of Your Body.
  15. You Learn To Appreciate The Little Things in Life, and Those Are The Ones’ That Mean The Most.
  16. Getting up every morning and going for a run, has been my savior for the past year. I have never felt less stressed out than I do when I run. It releases your endorphins and gets' your whole body moving, you feel "free." It lets’ you forget about everything and lets’ you enjoy the beautiful life you live. They say if you free your mind, then everything else in life will follow. Take care of your mental and physical health first. I wholeheartedly believe in that. Running is what does that for me. <3

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
