College tuition is at an all-time high. Students aren’t able to receive higher education because they can’t afford it. Students could get loans but that would mean that they could be in debt for the rest of their lives. College loan debt is already higher than credit card debt at this point. Some people don’t want to have to pay-off thousands of dollars in debt for the rest of their lives. However, if they don’t go to college and spend thousands of dollars, they are less likely to get a really good paying job. Ironically, students who do go to higher educational institutions can’t find good jobs right out of college. Another issue is that students aren’t becoming educated on economics. For example, Cooper Union had students who were protesting to bring free college back. However, they demanded free college without actually knowing anything about how economics works. The debt that the college had built up had made it completely impossible to give free tuition any longer.
The economy is almost hysterically flawed to where students can’t even find jobs right out of college. Students go to college believing that they will get a higher paying job right out of college; however, in this economy, it’s very difficult to find a job. This brings me to my most unfavorable and controversial point. Both Trump and Hillary are extremely unlikable. However, a wise person once told me that the Presidential Election, especially this year, is not a personality contest. Trump is extremely unfavorable in his actions; however, he is an extremely great businessman. I want the best for me when I walk out of college with my degree. I want to be able to find a job right out of college. Many people close to me have not been able to get back into the work force with higher paying jobs, and I think it’s time for change in the White House.
