On September 22, I had the privilege of seeing one of American Idol's former tenth-season winner and big country music star, Scotty McCreery. I attended the show with my good friend, Sam, at the Luhr's Center on Shippensburg University's campus. Seeing as though Scotty McCreery is younger and his music is directed towards a younger crowd, I was surprised by the amount of older folk were at the concert. Even when Sam and I walked into the premises, a teenage girl approached us and stated, "I'm glad to see other young people here besides myself."

As we got our tickets, checked by the ushers and were shown to our seats towards the back of the venue, we sat down behind an older crowd. At first, when we sat I thought that maybe this was going to be lame. An older crowd isn't going to sing along, stand up and dance, and get loud and obnoxious- which are the kind of crowds I am used to being in at concerts.

During the opening act, not many people knew the artist's song, so the crowd was still quiet. But as soon as Scotty McCreery hit the stage, the whole room screamed and hollered. Still, no one was standing or dancing to the music, but everyone was singing right along.

There were two parts that I loved about Scotty McCreery's performance. The first being him walking us through his audition experience on American Idol. He sang all the songs he auditioned with ranging from Josh Turner to Lady Gaga. His story added a nice and comical twist to his performance. My absolutely favorite part of the entire concert was towards the end of the show. Remember how I said most of the audience was sitting? Well not anymore! Scotty McCreery came down the aisle behind all of us and I had the opportunity to touch him! He continued down the aisle back to the stage as he was singing. After that, fans rushed up to the edge of the stage to finish the rest of the concert. Large beach balls were being volleyed throughout the crowd as he said his final goodbye.

Scotty McCreery isn't just an artist that sings and plays guitar. He is an entertainer. An excellent entertainer at that. No matter what age, you can appreciate what he sings, where he came from and how he made it to where he is today! The night ended by the audience giving Scotty McCreery a standing ovation that he truly deserved!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
