For everyone who has dated before or is currently dating knows the struggle of keeping the relationship during the summer, especially if it is long distance. You miss that person so much and it is harder and harder each day to be away from them.
Sometimes one of them might be doing an internship in a place far from you or might have a job where there isn’t as much time to spend talking but there are ways to make it work. While we might be heading back to reality from summer vacation there are ways for us to improve our relationships and find ways for us to continue where it temporarily ended.
If you are like me, you might not have access to your phone as much as most people or you might not have the best service, but there are ways to restart after summer. One thing is finding a way for the two of you to do something at least once a week and rekindling the bond. This shows how much you care and that they were on your mind during the summer even if it was a little hard to find time to talk to them. You might not know where to begin, but when you return if there is any indication of you trying it shows you care and it means that this person must be very special to you.
Summer is great because you are given opportunities some people can only dream of. You will miss this person- there is no denying it -but this can also be good for the both of you. Sometimes couples spend so much time together they forget who they are and what they have to offer.
A few years ago when I dated a girl I was so caught up in a relationship that I missed out on some great opportunities. I was lucky enough to not worry as much but it taught me something. There are times where you are going to need to think about yourself and yourself only. What I am trying to say is that it is okay to be with someone but you also need to think about yourself and doing things for you, not just your significant other.
Summer is almost over and that means it is almost time to go back to the real world. Going back will take some time getting used to but it is worth it. IF you find someone that makes you happy even when you just think about them they are worth the wait. Waiting has its ups and downs but in the end it is always worth it.
It might be a little hard to stay in a relationship over the summer but just know that that person is so excited to see you when you get back and can't wait to hear about everything that happened during your summer. Just know that while you might have missed them so much that seeing them will make all the times you missed them even better.
