How To Resist Outside Sources From Changing Who You Are

Do you ever feel as if when you hang out with a certain crowd of people it causes you to feel less of yourself? Or as if you go to a specific event you feel restricted and unable to express the rawest version of you. Well, I am here to tell you that you are not the only person feeling and experiencing this exact emotion or event occurring.

Earlier this week I was put into a situation with friends that I noticed how much I couldn't truly express who I am and my morals because they are so self-focused and oriented which is not like me at all. I love seeing other perspectives, and how they see the events of the world. With this also came a realization of how I try to fit in with them by changing my thoughts, and morals to an extent which should not be the case. This can go for people, activities, events, or places in general; you should never have to change the best version of you for anything or anybody. There is only one of you which means you are the missing puzzle piece for parts of life don't allow pressures and outside sources to make you think differently.

Instead of focusing on trying to fit in, make it a goal to choose wisely with these things to make sure they bring out the best you there is. You should feel like you are on a natural high of joy and excitement because you are expressing your greatest of thoughts, and perspectives. How? You might ask, well this feeling will come so fast and swiftly that it feels unnoticeable. But when you are living it you will soon come to realize it by the emotions that are felt and expressed. It is very night-and-day, the difference it can make in you if you surrounded by the right people, events, and environments. Now, go out there and be the missing piece in many lives that you know you can be.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
