To Republicans From Passionate Millennial Democrats

We're very strong 'snowflakes,' thank you very much.

Dear Republicans,

We are Democrats. Ah, yes, we know what you are thinking--We are pasty snowflakes who smoke weed and do not have jobs. Everything offends us, and we only feel safe on our liberal college campus where we have the freedom to express our thoughts. We break the Starbucks’ windows in tantrum-rants whenever we do not get our way. We are liberal feminazis (who believe in worldwide women domination and male servitude), and when someone disagrees with us, we cry sexist/racist/bigot-like pig and sub-Tweet about it. We are vegan, and only drink non-fat soy lattes from Starbucks (even after we break their windows. Peace and love, right?).

This is what a Democrat is, right? Wrong.

You can assume that we did not vote for the Cheeto who has been downgrading his people since the start of his campaign, but that is about all that you can assume for the remainder of this article.

We are college students who believe in the sanctity of the future of this country. We have jobs. What? We have jobs even when we are lazy college students? Yes. Between the two of us, we have four jobs. We work our asses off every day. We believe that everyone should work. We are disgusted that we are a part of the least paid generation, but also a part of the most hardworking generation.

We believe in human rights. This includes (but is not limited to) gender, racial, immigrant, and LGBT+ rights that are often overlooked in our society. We believe that America should be a place for all, not just for the elite few. We believe that everyone should stand up against oppression, and to not be afraid to make their voices heard.

We are not Democrats who are completely unaware that abortion is taking away a possible life. We are both pro- choice in a sense that we could not see our future selves ever undergoing that procedure, but that choice is ours to make. It is not the government’s job to tell us when we can have children.

We are liberal Democrats who protest peacefully, and chant through the streets of Washington, DC “this is what democracy looks like.” We were in the streets, rallied with people who love this country. They, like us, believed that America should be a safe place for people of all different backgrounds.

The fact of the matter is that we get that our ideas are different from everyone else’s. We know that people do not agree on everything. But, we also see how some follow a specific political system based on superficial ideologies that are none of their business. This is not normal.

So, the next time you want to call out a liberal Democrat, please, use your facts. We have jobs. We do not protest in a violent manner. And, we certainly do not condone hate in America or anywhere in the world.

Thank you.

Sincerely, actual, real-life Democrats

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
