1. We don't realize our blessings.

We don’t realize that what we have what others dream of having but can’t have because of where they live and the circumstances of the places they live in. In America, we have everything! We have our family, and we can accomplish any goal we have.

2. We tend to look at others' lives.

Looking at others’ lives and wishing we have what they have is common today. We want more and more and we don’t know how to be thankful and appreciative of what we have. We tend to look at what the people in our lives have and focus on having it too. It’s like a competition between people and who will have more.

3. We don't realize that things could be worse.

Taking things for granted seems to be a habit as Americans. We like to ignore the possibility of things becoming worse and that’s why we aren’t prepared when the unexpected happens in our lives. We should realize that things can change to be better or worse, and we need to be prepared for either or.

4. We want what others have.

Instead of wishing you had that cool car your friend has, focus on working to earn that car. That friend earned it and earned whatever it is that they have. So instead of wishing you had it, work for it and earn it.

5. We don't want to move on.

When things don’t go our way, we are paralyzed and don’t want to move on to something new. Instead, we should forget what happened yesterday and begin a new chapter immediately.

6. We are afraid to go after what we want.

Yes! Being afraid can make us feel bored because our fears stop us from doing what we really want to do. Our fears make us feel lazy because we don’t have the strength to overcome and challenge them. We should remain strong and willing to face our fears.

7. We wait for things to happen on their own.

We assume that we will live up to a certain age and we forget the fact that any of us could leave this world any second. So, why wait for things to happen periodically in your life? Go after your desires because this moment right now is what counts.

8. We let negative thoughts build in our mind.

When things go wrong, it is best to remember that it’s not the end of the world. Things going wrong is a sign that something better is coming our way. Why let one bad situation affect your entire mood negatively? Life keeps on going and so should we.

9. Constant negativity makes us bored.

Today, I hear the phrase “I am bored” every single day and I wanted to show why boredom exist in our lives.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.
