I fully believe being single is better than being in a relationship. Sure, when you’re with the right person, a relationship can be great. But when you’re single, you have unlimited freedom, you find love within yourself, and you save money from dates. Here are a few more reasons why I believe it’s better to be single than to be in a relationship.
You have no one to impress. – If you want to wear sweatpants and have a lazy day every day, you have that freedom. You don’t have someone to constantly look good for, and there are no fancy date nights you’ll need to dress up for.
There are no petty fights. – Young relationships and petty drama go hand and hand. When you’re single, you don’t have to stress pissing your partner off. You can do whatever you want, whenever you want, and a fight won’t follow.
Casual dating can be really fun. – There’s nothing more enjoyable than causal dating. You don’t feel completely single, and you also don’t have the commitment to a long-term relationship. You can grab coffee with Ian on Tuesday and go to the movies with Amanda on Thursday, and there’s nothing wrong with that. Casual dating allows you to meet a lot of people and make a lot of good relationships.
You don’t have to cut any of your friends off. – Sometimes, a jealous partner will want you to stop hanging out with your best guy friend or anyone else they feel intimated by. When you’re single, you don’t have to worry about your partner not liking your friends. Plus, you don’t have to explain who you’re hanging out with all the time because no one cares.
Girl’s nights out can be great. – Get your flirt on next time you’re out with your girls because you can. Or, if you’re not into hitting on guys in crowded nightclubs, you can stay out until 3 am singing in the car and getting pizza. Either way, you’re bound to have a fun night with memories to last a lifetime.
Self-love is the best kind of love. – When you’re single, you get the opportunity to love yourself unlike ever before. You see the parts of yourself that shine the brightest and you gain confidence in the skin you wear. Being single reminds you that you don’t need someone else to show you what’s beautiful about yourself. You can find it yourself.
You’re not wasting time in a relationship you’re not happy with. – A relationship is either going to last forever, or you’re going to break up. With the right person it is worth it, but if you’re unhappy, you’re just wasting time until you meet that perfect person.
