Three Reasons Odyssey Is Helpful
Young to publishing

I joined Odyssey in around Odyssey of last year. This organization helps me to better enhance my writing skills and feel more confident about writing in general. I enjoy writing for Odyssey as a extra curriculum activity and something beyond school. Here are the three reasons I love writing for Odyssey.

1. Influence on my writing.

Writing for the Odyssey has improved my style of writing and has helped me further enhance my inner author abilities. The weekly deadline pushes me to write often under pressure which also helps with the in class timed essay expectations. I have learned how to make quality articles that contain useful and entertaining facts.

2. Preparation for the real world.

The Odyssey community prepares its writers for the real world where expectations are given and are are expected to be fulfilled. They have strict guidelines that are expected to be fulfilled which prepare you for a real job scenario. Articles are due every Wednesday and if they are not submitted by the deadline, creators have the chance of getting kicked out similar to a work environment.

3. Great extra curriculum activity for college.

Odyssey is also a great extra curricular activity to put on one's college application. It shows that you were committed to an organization throughout your high school career. Writing articles also shows your interest in journalism and literature if that's what you want to do in the future.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
