Everyone makes resolutions for the new year. For some, it's "I want to lose weight/exercise more/be healthier!" or "I will stop procrastinating/get organized/be less stressed!" or "I'm going to end world hunger/bring world peace/save the world!" Whatever your resolution, chances are good you'll give up on it soon, if you haven't already. Instead of disappointment this January, here's a list of real-life resolutions for 2016 that will leave you feeling accomplished.

1. Wear a tucked-in button-down at least once this month. #flyaf

2. Actually throw out the piece of paper between the slices of cheese in the package instead of letting them stack up.

3. Toss your dirty clothes into the laundry basket instead of in a pile right next to it.

4. Wash your dishes before they start to crust up.

5. Replace the toilet paper roll. Don't stack it on top either. Place. Roll. On. Handle.

6. Actually learn the lyrics to that song you're always butchering.

7. Buy a coffee that's not covered in a mountain of whipped cream and chocolate shavings. (Then spit it out after you're a safe distance away. Nobody needs all that bitterness in their life.)

8. Find a plant you can keep alive for at least a month. Proceed to brag to all your friends of your life-preserving abilities.

9. Learn CPR and First Aid for legitimate life-saving! Bonus: Research CPR for your furry friends, too!

10. Call your mom and dad. They love you and want you to call.

11. Actually replace the batteries in your smoke detectors instead of ripping them out of the ceiling when they start shrieking at 2 a.m. and leaving them in pieces on the floor.

12. Start that assignment a few days earlier. Your GPA will thank you.

13. Clean the hairballs out of your drain. Your roommates will love you.

14. Disengage from social media. It's toxic to your real-life relationships.

15. Separate your laundry before you wash it. That is, unless you don't mind dingy gray T-shirts. In that case, carry on.

16. Write a thank-you note. You didn't get this far in life without some help.

17. Try a new vegetable. Rah, rah, rutabaga! L-E-E-K, this veg is bae! We've got fiber -- how 'bout you?!

18. Do something that scares you.

19. Finish a tube of lip balm.

20. Make a to-do list and cross off every single item.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
