To The Quiet Ones,
There are two types of people, ones who face their problems head on and the others, the ones who think their problems will go away if they just ignore it and move on. The quiet ones. Of course, there are pros and cons for both kinds of people, but sometimes the cons outweigh the pros.
When you get into a disagreement, altercation or anything that seems to cause a problem the best thing to do is face it. Hiding behind the problems and lies will only lead to further problems down the road or worse, loss of all communications with whoever was involved. When you don't talk about something, you are allowing the situation to settle in hot lava. It's like leaving a project unfinished, it sits there with no greater purpose and will never become what it could be, it waits in the corners yearning for some kind of closure. Don't you think that is a little unfair? You decide to give this project your all in the beginning and then you just give up, you hide behind the walls because maybe it got too complicated and you didn't want to get too involved. But where does that leave you? With a lost project that will still continue to be there, even after you quit, so after all is said and done you accomplished nothing but a displacement.
Knowing you are to blame for a feeling of unsettledness when it doesn't need to be there should probably be kinda sucky. I mean, whether it's friends, family or a stranger you should always do your best to make everything right in the end. I've dealt with many situations that were uncomfortable because there was unfinished business. Sometimes the worst thing you can do is leave water under the bridge, especially if it's 10 feet waves of water.
Even though attempting to reprimand a situation that may seem touchy or investing you shouldn't ever run away from something that matters. Even if things get to the point of "agreeing to disagree" you still are better off settling there than not settling at all. There is a sense of maturity and wisdom that comes from picking your battles, but if you don't ever go to fight, what does that say about you? Does it even say anything...? Or is that unsettles too? You're better off handling a situation as soon as it occurs. Don't be the quiet one, or you'll just end up being hushed away for the rest of your life.
