Let me start out by saying that I WORSHIP people who have the stamina to eat salads and work out twice a day. When I look at pictures of their bodies on Instagram or Facebook, I think, "Wow. That is amazing. I wish a could have abs like that." However, I don't regret the way I live my life. If I could choose between losing 10 pounds to build a sculpted six pack and eating what I want, at the end of the day, I'm going to choose food. It brings me happiness, and I'm not ashamed.
While I think it's incredibly important for people today to focus on eating healthy and exercising, I also believe that these things can be done in moderation, just like anything else. In fact, it is my personal philosophy that there is absolutely nothing wrong with--every one in awhile (or every day)--enjoying the simple process of sitting down, and slowly adding ketchup, mustard, pickles, and tomatoes to my hamburger before breathing in deeply and taking a delicious bite.
Yet as of late, people seem to have a problem with my eating habits. I have no idea why. I mean, hey, eat whatever you want but please don't judge me for enjoying this small slice of satisfaction I get to have when I need it. Look, you don't know me. You don't know what I've been through today. I had a LONG a** day and I would REALLY like to EAT my HAMBURGER in PEACE! So go take you, your salad, and your judgment somewhere else, and leave me with my happiness (in burger form). Thanks.
As deceiving as the title may be, this is not just about hamburgers. I love hot dogs, chocolate, fries, steak, bread, and chips. I love soda, candy, ice cream, pizza, and just about everything that I shouldn't, but I think that it's incredibly important for people to get some enjoyment out of life! Some people enjoy music, some enjoy sports, but everyone enjoys food! Food is what has brought family and friends together since the beginning of time; food is the bane of our existence! Why shouldn't we savor even just the act of eating something absolutely delicious?
Yes, obesity is a problem in the United States. Yes, many people who eat well live longer and have fewer health problems, but I think so many people would be so much happier if they let themselves indulge every once in a while.
I'm not the fattest person in the world, and I'm not the skinniest person in the world. I love broccoli, and I live for when the endorphins kick in after an intense workout. However, I am a proud eater of hamburgers. And to my fellow hamburger lovers, I admire you, I really do. Looking and feeling good is nice, but at the end of a tough day, everything tastes better than skinny feels.
