Unless you've been successfully avoiding the results of this election, somehow Donald Trump is now President Elect. May I start by saying, WHAT HAPPENED AMERICA. As a country, we have elected someone who is seen as not qualified to lead a country with plans other than to build a wall, sees solutions in bombing other countries, and what seems to be a never-ending hate for a good portion of America's people — women, minorities, LGBTQ, the disabled, Muslims, Hispanics, basically anyone that isn't a privileged white man. What do we even do now? Trump has urged for everyone Republican, Democratic, and Independents alike to come together now and celebrate "our" victory. I just find it funny how he expects those he has spent his whole campaign bashing to forgive his words and intentions and come together to support him. How will this work? We have at least 4 years of wondering to do. What will Trump's short fuse lead to? Here we are in Obama's final months in office awaiting what at least to me feels like doomsday.
The first thought I had was for any of the people in my life that aren't white. I come from an Italian family which gives me my "white" skin and facial features so I should be good but why would I only be concerned for myself in this time of America's worst election in history? I know so many people that Trump would love to rid his country of whether they're here legally or illegally. One of his major campaign platforms was to be stricter on immigration and deportation so what will happen to any Latino people that I love? Are they being "sent home" even if they aren't Mexican? Is my Muslim little at risk of severe and unpunished hate crimes because of what she chooses to believe in? Even though I hate this term, as a millennial, almost all of my friends identify under LGBTQ and I've never seen them happier than when they came out. Now as of today, they can marry who they truly love and want to spend their life with nationwide but according to Trump, he wishes to overturn this and deprive these people of the happiness we all deserve as humans and Americans. When will Trump start to preach every small minded person's wet dream of an America that looks like a snow covered land of straight people all praying to the same God and believing that no one other than a white man is deserving to call himself American? This is the image of America that comes to mind when thinking of "Donald Trump's America".
I exclusively say 'man' because Trump has made it more than obvious women are objects to him. Trump is the ultimate frat douche when it comes to treatment of women. Where is his other daughter? I couldn't even tell you her name if I had not Googled it, it's Tiffany for those wondering or learning that he has two daughters for the first time. Trump is going to turn a woman's body into government property with the regulations he wants to put in. To those who will try to make the argument of Congress and the Supreme Court, Congress majority is Republican, the very people that put him in office. Ladies, let's hit the gym and maybe the plastic surgeon's office because if Trump doesn't find you beautiful, he will forget you.
This arises my thoughts of does this man have any intentions besides splitting America into the have and the have-nots? He LOVES talking about the "problems in the inner cities" but what does he think will fix these problems he never elaborates on. There is so much about America that Donald seemingly has no clue about. Again this leads me to the conclusion he is not going to be a President for all, he's going to be a President for those blind supporters with hearts full of hate.
Our country is going to be sent far, far back into the past. How would we, the land of the free, now show that our country is the best in the world when we are about to make millions of people nationwide feel unwanted in their own homes? I have so many questions for Donald. Why does he expect to be a president for all when he has spent his entire campaign targeting those he would remove from America to get the support of his voters? How can he be a president for them? This country is about to see turmoil and mistrust in ways that everyone had thought to be long gone but now, in 2016 the American people have elected a leader that will ensure he Makes America Great(ly regret their choices) Again. Yes, the people of America have spoken but how many have they just silenced.
