Trying out for a sport can be extremely nerve-wracking and they are easy to overthink. As we all know, going up against people of all ages can be intimidating. When it comes down to it, we can sometimes beat ourselves up if we don't do as well as planned. This article is going to help prepare anyone for their tryouts and how to make a lasting impression! It doesn't matter what the sport is, it matters what YOU do to help yourself become the best you can be! Time to show everyone what you are made of.
Hydration
Making sure that one has enough fluids in their body is imperative. To make sure that you are hydrated, drink half of your body weight in water. This will help the body in the long-run. Preseason is especially important to hydrate because it helps build muscles. Water transports nutrients throughout the body; with all of the working out and running you are going to experience, it becomes crucial to make sure you're drinking enough. It is highly suggested that drinking half of the body weight (and even more depending on the weather) can only help your body.
Working Out Ahead of Time
Going into preseason without previous training is very tough on the body. Making a point to get to the gym a month in advance can guarantee better performance in preseason. Not to mention, it will prepare your mind and body for what is ahead. Who knows, maybe it will make the workouts effortless! Either way, going to the gym and working hard will make sure your body is not getting pushed so hard that you get injured. Coaches should be emphasizing the fact that working out before preseason, or all year for that matter, becomes routine.
Fix The Weak Spots
Taking the time to realize your weak parts as a player takes heart. Most people do not realize their flaws and automatically assume that they are at their highest potential. A real, true, and dedicated player will realize that they have areas that need to be adjusted. Whether it is ten minutes or forty minutes a day, every second counts.
