Donald Trump is my President. I cannot deny that fact nor can I change it. I am thankful that I live in the land of the free and the home of the brave. I am proud to be a part of a democracy. Just because I wasn't supportive of Donald Trump before doesn't mean I will rebel or disown him now. He is not a perfect man and he will not be a perfect president; however, he is my president now. President Donald Trump is inaugurated and I would like to pray for my new leader and for my country because the success of one is beneficial for the other. We are in this together.
Lord, I pray that you watch over my new president and keep him safe. Let no harm come to him and keep him healthy throughout his next 4 years.
Please give Donald Trump the strength and courage he will need to take on this demanding lifestyle. I trust that you have prepared him and the rest of our country's leaders to make the right decisions and continue to run this government. Help him and his family transition into this life of power, publicity, diplomacy, and representing the United States of America.
Please provide Donald Trump with the great wisdom needed for this influential role. Help him to use his previous knowledge to guide him while also learning something new every day. Please grant this nation prosperity and allow the United States to flourish under his leadership and grow as a nation together.
Lord, please unite the nation and help us to remember that politics should be a civilized debate of diverse opinions rather than a blood bath of words or actions. Protect peaceful protestors and also those under protest. Let no harm come to anyone--no matter their background or political affiliation.
I pray that everyone living in this country--legal citizen or illegal immigrant, man or woman, gay or straight, African American, Asian, Hispanic, or Caucasian--feels safe and supported. Please let minds be at ease and families comforted. Help each and every one of us to remember that you are watching over us and will always be with us.
In your name I pray,
Amen.
