Stop Shoving Your Religion Down People's Throats

Don't do it, it's not cool.

Here's a little bit about myself.

During most of my childhood, I grew up going to church twice a year until about age nine or ten, and since age eleven, I went to church more regularity after a couple of years of not wanting to go to church. My faith and views grew and changed as I got older. Throughout my childhood and teenage years, there was one thing that never changed. I never shoved my faith down people's throats. That's not how you get people to convert. For me, everyone has a choice. Whether you want to be Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, Atheist, Agnostic, and so on.

If I'm being honest, of course, I want us to share the same faith, but if we don't, I'm not going to hate you or try to shove my religion down your throat. I wouldn't want you to shove your religion down my throat. I'm going to respect you and what you believe in, and I would still want to be your friend regardless of what you believe in. I like learning about other people's religions, and what they believe in. Everyone is different. So, everyone has different views and beliefs.

For me, I want people to get to know who I am as a person. I'm not perfect. I will make mistakes. I won't judge you for yours, or look down on you. I can still have fun. I like sports and to write. I like to listen to different kinds of music and read different kinds of books. I won't bring up my faith unless we're talking about something where I have to explain why I believe in what I believe in, the topic of religion is brought up, or if someone asks me something about religion or my faith. I want to have open conversations with people about religion. I will invite you to a couple of events throughout the year. If you say yes, that's awesome, and if you say no, that's okay. That's up to you. You don't have to come if you don't want to. I'm fine either way. If you don't want to talk about religion, that's up to you as well. I'm fine with that too.

Overall, I will not shove my religion down your throat. I don't like it when it's done to me, and I know you don't like it done to you. It's not a way to get people converted. People don't like it. Don't get me wrong. Not every person in each religion shoves their religion down people's throat, but if you are one of those people that do shove your religion down people's throats, just stop. It's not okay. You're just going to push people away which is the opposite of what you want to do.

Now, you can express your opinions because you have the freedom to do so, but you should also listen and respect what others have to say as well because they also have a right to say what they believe in. Because even though we're all human, we all are different. We all have different beliefs and opinions, and we shouldn't hate each other because of it. I'm not saying that we all have to get along and be friends, and agree with what people think. But I think we should at least listen to each other, and have a reasonable conversation with each other instead of fighting.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
