They are everywhere. You can see them in a snap or post, read them in a textbook, hear them in a song and even write them yourself.
Words
Something that in any language can change your day from being the worst day ever, to the best day ever and vice versa.
But what point am I trying to make with this week's article?
It's safe to assume that most of my articles have some central idea or thought that they follow. So, if you are a loyal reader, maybe you saw this one coming. Maybe you didn't. But either way, another stream of consciousness is coming to the page for your eyes and anyone you are willing to share it with.
This one is tied to what is happening this week: National Coming Out Day.
We, as people, need to be aware of what we say, send or share over the course of our days. Ignorance is not bliss in an age where the media puts everything in your face without even asking to know about it.
It pains me to hear people using the words "retarded" or "faggot". These words should have no room in our society. These are words of hate and should always be remembered as so. I even believe the term "retarded" isn't even one deemed usable in our language anymore. And personally, "faggot", when I hear that my blood boils. People are people, not one word or another, people are people.
Think about where I spoke of words being seen, heard or written in my opening line...

Post: Jokes keeping how people will feel in mind, What you are up to, Accomplishments
Textbook: School, School, School
Song: Stories told, emotions understood, random euphoria
Yourself: Poetry, Short Stories, Novels, Blogs, Posts, Out load, Mindfully used
...Could you think of any other examples or ways to use these platforms.
I take the power of words seriously. I am not even that proud of this article because when I sit down to write something I need to be able to do it in the moment the inspiration strikes. The take away from this, or main takeaway, is just to always be mindful of what you say and write. If you hear something, speak your mind, don't allow yourself to feel awkward or oppressed.
Words have a strength all their own, its just up to us how we use that power!
