You know all those things you "never have time for???" Well, I recently had this realization: with graduation fast approaching and NO idea what I am doing thereafter, I have all the free time in the world!! And instead of thinking about this with the fastest approaching sense of impending doom ever like normal, I've decided to think of all the things I could do to fill the time with happiness (you know, in between applying to "real jobs," any jobs whatsoever and hyperventilating). Also, since this is not a typical Bucket List, as in you have until you kick the bucket to finish it, I am giving myself a one-year time limit goal!
1. Resume Etsy site regular operations and promotion.
For many years, I have owned a vintage clothing site on Etsy.com. For several of those years, the site has done little more than occupy space on the internet, LOTS of space in multiple closets at my family's house and even space on social media without much activity, an order rolling in a few times a year to prove that someone did find my shop with it just, well, existing. While the fact that I do have this business and social media pages to promote it I do believe have helped my resume and even help me get some of my first retail jobs, it has not been my main or even second or third focus while I've been in school. But hey! That could change now that I'm finished if I want it to.
2. Read more* recreationally.
For years I have also had a Goodreads account...that has remained unupdated....because there has been no progress to update. The asterisk there is just because an item of "read recreationally" just looks too sad.
3. Do craft projects for fun.
You know, like one of the dozens that I have lying around my apartment/my family's house/my cousin's car. Crafting is something I do for fun and to destress which would have been good to do during college too but, you know, life.
4. Pick a graduate school program.
Because that's also happening in only one summer. Scary stuff people.
5. Pet my dog.
My family recently lost the dog we've had since I was a child, Happy, but he was survived by the extremely shy puppylike toy poodle mix my mom got a few years ago, Carrie. She normally doesn't let anyone but my mom or the girl who worked with her before we rescued her from the shelter touch her unless she's in a really rare friendly mood. When I come home after graduation, I'm going to *hopefully* make her like me enough to pet her on the regular.
6. Interact with more people.
I've been so shy in college and I barely ever left campus or the downtown area/anywhere I could walk to from Stephens because I didn't have a car for 90% of my time here. I need to get out and interact with people and try to dull my fear of strangers.
7. Relax.
After all, I just did one of the hardest things I've attempted in my life so far. It's time to chill (for at least a little bit).
