Positivity Is Key To A Happy Life

It's easier to be a Positive Polly than it is to be a Negative Nelly.

I think everyone can agree that sometimes it's easier to lay down and be a Negative Nelly than it is to see the bright side of a bad situation. However, we've all heard the phrase "everything happens for a reason." I can't stress how true this is. So I've decided to share my reasons for being a Positive Polly with you.

1. Being negative is a BIG turn-off.

Take it from me, no one can stand being around a constantly negative person. I get having to vent from time to time, but it's just not acceptable to look for the bad in things and complain about them all of the time. Everyday I look around me and see miserable people who have so many good blessings in life. I try to avoid those people, and everyone else does too. So don't be that person. Have a happy attitude and always wear a smile, people will admire you for it.

2. Your attitude is contagious.

Positivity and negativity are both very contagious. For example, you and your friends decide to go to a football game and the whole way there one girl in your group is constantly making comments like "I don't even know why we're going when everyone knows they're going to lose. This is such waste of money." Comments like that can bring everyone's mood down from a 100 to 0. You can brighten other people's day and inspire them to be more positive just by being positive yourself. It's a chain reaction.

3. Complaining about it won't fix it.

Like I said, it's okay to vent about it, but constantly complaining won't change anything that has already happened. Instead of sitting around and being unhappy because things didn't go your way or someone hurt your feelings, think about why things might've happened the way they did and the lesson your learned. Even though it may not seem like it, there's a bright side to everything. Always remember that. For example, when I get my heart broken I remember that now I'm one heartbreak closer to finding the real deal. Sometimes it's how you see things. Choose happiness.

4. Everything happens for a reason.

Life can seem unfair sometimes, but God has a plan for each of us. He takes things from us in order to give us bigger and better things. Everything is a blessing in disguise. Missing out on a fun night with your friends can protect you from something that may or may not have happened. I missed out on a week vacation with my best friends because of unfortunate circumstances this summer. However, I was surprised with a visit from a friend who was getting ready to leave for basic training. If I had gone on vacation with my friends, I wouldn't have seen one of my other close friends for an extremely long time. Plus, I had another opportunity to spend a while in Florida with the same group a few weeks later. So in the end, everything turns out okay. Keep that in mind.

5. Life will be easier.

Looking on the bright side of things will make you an all around happier person. It gets exhausting look for reasons to be sad, mad, frustrated, etc. You can inspire the people around you with simply having a good attitude and positive mind. Remember this as you go through life and take these points to heart. If you do, life will be a lot better and more drama-free

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
